Wojciech Szczesny who has been highly rated among Arsenal fans and Arsene Wenger ,has revealed the reason to stall  the contract talks with Arsenal. The young Polish admitted he wants to commit to Arsenal in the long turn, but stating he will only commit if playing time is guaranteed.

The young stopper has had an impressive performance during Arsenal win on Newcastle in the Carling Cup tie. Therefor, the stopper admitted he is good enough to get playing time especially in Cup competition. The fact that Lukasz Fabianski revival in recent weeks makes the situation more complicated for the 20-year-old stopper from extending his current deal.

Szczesny admit he would love to remain suggesting that money is not the main issue. He told the Daily Mail,

“There was some offers, but I am not interested right now.

“It’s not that I don’t want to extend the contract, I just don’t want to hold talks at this point.

“I have enough money to live and I can’t complain about that, but I will only be happy if I play.

“Everything depends on how many games I play. I admit that I want to play at Arsenal as long as they want me.

“If I can earn my place in goal I won’t even consider any other offers.”

He also admit that he is ready to show  what he is capable of  when the chance is there. He stated :

“I have to make sure that, when I do get to play, I’m at my very best. I feel sharp and ready  for whatever comes. It’s the matches that, in the end, show whether you’re good enough.

“I wasn’t quite there against Newcastle, there were obviously a couple of decisions I could have done better on, but I’ll put that down to inexperience and overall I think I’ve shown what I’m capable of.

“The match against Newcastle was a chance to prove myself to the boss, the fans and my team-mates as well. You don’t get to see goalkeepers in training, we have to play games. I’m really happy I finally got that chance.

“There’s a big difference between being on the bench and on the pitch – unless you’re actually playing people don’t really know what you’re about.”
