Carling Cup finally enters quater final phase leaving eight teams to fight for honour. Arsenal, which won convincingly against The Toon Army, draw Wigan for quater final match which will be played at the Grove. Wigan, which was 2006 finalist in the same tournament, has made hard work of reaching the last eight after passing through Swansea City. Although Wigan can be considered not performing well at the start of the season, Roberto Martinez men can still ruin Arsenal chance for trophy remembering their last encounter ended for Wigan glory. The encounter will prove to be an interesting one seeing Arsenal will be eager to fix the lose - which will be considered as title-race-ending lose for Arsenal last season- into a win which will open the chance for Cup glory.

On the other tie, Aston Villa which want to draw everyone but Arsenal got their wish in West Midlands derby by drawing Birmingham. Holders Manchester United will take the chance of a third successive Cup win against West Ham at Upton Park. While Ipswich, the only non top flight side, draw West Brom to fight for a place in the semifinal.

The quarter-final ties will be played in the week beginning November 29. Till then, keep it red , Arsenal !! :)
